Frieden und Demokratie nur mit Rußland

Nach einer Podiumsdiskussion über Demokratie und Medien haben die Arbeitsgruppe »Mittelosteuropa« der Partei Die Linke und Mitarbeiter des Moskauer Zentrums zur Erforschung demokratischer Prozesse »Kvorum« am Donnerstag eine Erklärung abgegeben:
Wir, die Vertreter der Podiumsdiskussion zum Thema »Demokratie in Gefahr? – Demokratie im 21. Jahrhundert in der EU und Rußland«, erklären im Ergebnis unserer Debatte und mit dem Blick auf die bestehende Realität: Die EU und ihre Mitgliedsstaaten befinden sich in einer tiefen Krise – der Finanzen und der Wirtschaft – die mehr und mehr das gesamte gesellschaftliche System erfaßt und die zu Einschränkungen und Abbau von Demokratie führt. Die Medien werden genutzt und eingesetzt, um gesellschaftliche Transparenz einzuschränken und Bilder zu vermitteln, die einer konservativen Politik dienen und durch fehlende Transparenz Bewegungen für mehr Demokratie blockieren.

Mała lekcja abchaskiej demokracji

Nasz reporter przyglądał się wyborom prezydenckim w separatystycznej gruzińskiej republice Abchazji. Pod dokumentem chwalącym gospodarzy za brak wyborczych nieprawidłowości znalazł swój podpis, którego... nigdy nie składał.
Urzędujący prezydent zwyciężył w cuglach, zdobywając ponad 60 proc. głosów. Opozycja oskarżyła władzę o fałszerstwo, ale nie poważyła się na uliczne protesty. Taki był finał wyborów w Abchazji – republice uznawanej tylko przez Rosję, Nikaraguę i Wenezuelę. Zaś Gruzja – która wciąż uważa Abchazję za część swojego państwa – nazwała głosowanie farsą wyreżyserowaną przez Moskwę. Na Zakaukaziu bez zmian.

Georgia Times: Book on August war will be translated for Europeans

Knizhniy Mir, the Moscow publishing house, published the book "South Ossetia. Armed Aggression and Peacemaking War", devoted to the August war in the Caucasus.

The authors are political scientists and international experts, OSinform reports.

Among them: Alexey Kochetkov, the head of the regional programs of the European Center for Geopolitical Analysis, director of Quorum, the center of democratic processes monitoring; Alexey Martynov, the head of the International Institute of the Newest States, in 2006-2008 the executive secretary of the interparliamentary assembly of the For Democracy and People's Rights Community member countries , Mateusz Piskorskiy, the head of the European Center for Geopolitical Analysis, member of the 5th Polish Sejm, doctor of political sciences.
