The course of elections in the Kabardino-Balkarian republic was watched by the deputy of European Parliament and well-known journalist Guillietto Chiesa who has arrived to Nalchik as the observer at the initiative of the Center for Monitoring Democratic Processes "Quorum". Chiesa has visited various polling districts of Nalchik, has visited Mayskiy and Prohladnenskiy areas.

Guillietto Chiesa has considered that parliamentary elections of Kabardino-Balkar Republic corresponded to level of the developed democracy, but them did not suffice compete.

As a whole, the deputy of European Parliament has considered that parliamentary elections of Kabardino-Balkar Republic have passed successfully and qualitatively and without gross infringements. «Very good impressions remained from visiting of polling districts where concerts were arranged, there was a warm atmosphere. We also with pleasure observed Pancake week celebrating, - has noted Chiesa. – One more positive fact of this day – saw, how people without ceremony approached to the head of republic Arsene Kanokovu and told about the problems. It is one of the important indicators confidential mutual relations of the power and the people».

He has positively responded about the elections scheme under party lists: «The Party is the lawful structure representing the general interests. In party there can be different people, but the purposes and problems they decide the general lives of the majority of the population directed on improvement». Mr. Chiesa also has noticed that «work of an electoral system of the Russian Federation completely corresponds to high international standards, provides efficiency and a transparency of selective process», having noted a transparency of the Russian electoral system.
